Welcome to Advance Wars Project.

I’ll be periodically updating this with new content related to the hack as progress is made. For now, there is some information on a few units, COs and music.

The coding work for this project is being performed by myself, script and the likes are being done by Terragent and x0_000 is our composer.

The final work will have a complete set of new COs, music, graphics, campaign, War Room among other surprises we have planned. All the numbers here are just temporary. They’ll probably change over time!

    Great work! could you put in a Robot CO like jugger, but more useful and no luck? probably ending up with grimms stats.

    If you made the game mode online play this would be interesting. Yes I know about AWBW but that site isnt made for going in play a match for an hour with someone and your finnished. I have tried that once and the site is painfully slow and the only reason that was possible is because I knew the guy :/

    So make an online mode and this is awesomeness

      Well, it’s a hack for a GBA game.

      Uh, you could always do the old school save state swap 😛

    This is looking incredibly awesome, just checked this recently and i have to say this really impressed me!

    if it isnt rude, i had like to add some suggestions for the hack, i don´t know if you already thought on this though:

    -increasing the surplus limit for the map editor, as well as making it possible to have more than 4 countries in play, i don´t know how hard this might be to code though. but if done, might be one of the greatest things to ever achieve imo. -having the advance war DS stealth would be pretty cool, the same as the black boats, in fact most of all the units.

    -As a custom edit you may throw in some way to efficiently use more the pipes, the gimmick of a pipe-riding transport would be cool, as well as making air units being able to pass over them.

    -Having more weather status.

    -new terrain, i have said it all in those two words.

    Though i know this isn´t CWs, you´re pretty much adding some custom material yourself.
    Anyway keep up the hard work, i´m looking forward to this.

      Just a few comments 🙂

      -Surplus limit could likely be increased, but not very much. The area of memory it occupies is pretty close to bursting point as it is. More than 4 armies is never happening because the engine doesn’t support it and it would be an amazingly huge undertaking for it to do so, rebudgeting tons and tons of memory, graphics etc. It is a full-time project in itself.

      -The pipes are being used for something different. 🙂

      -Weather’s been co-opted for the multiple tileset support. I’m planning to add some more weather, but it’ll only be cosmetic.

      -Planning on it.

      Anyhow, I’ll keep working on what I can 🙂

    Is this project active? I hope you haven’t given up on it. Advance wars is still one of my favorite handheld games. It would be awesome to experience something new like this.

      It’s been on Hiatus since February in favour of the War Room Challenge 2011 (Was supposed to take 2-3 months but it has ended up taking me most of the year). Definitely haven’t given up on it, but progress is slow! 😮

    I love the warroom 2012 hack.
    Some unlockables would be neat, with all them points that ive gathered. To change colours or unlock artwork or something. Maybe even tiny little artworks of sprites for the vehicles and troops? Thatd be cute as fuck 🙂

      Things are slowly happening on the code side – following the forums, I’ve expanded the map support for the game to allow hundreds more maps. 🙂
