Transport Copters

“It’s like dropping bombs that shoot guns.” – Stephen, Copter Pilot

At this point, it would be better if plausible to just add the Transport Plane. Rather than make the Transport Helicopter more expensive.

It’s an interesting concept and reading it retrospectively (started with the newer posts first), I wonder if the price is justified if unit launching would work in conjunction with this. With infantry it could be abused though since infantry dropped on/near hq would be able to do a blitz capping which would suck… however if the light vehicles could at least move (and maybe not shoot or something?) then it would add an interesting dimension for countering choke points.

The only problem is at the price tag of a tcopter+tank, a pair of anti air’s can shoot it down if it’s in the middle of transporting (unlikely since most people would move and drop right away, but on island maps where you can’t make the drop in just one turn it could be a problem etc).

I do like this idea, but I agree with Juigi somewhat; it would be better to include a transport plane of some sort (e.g. C-17 Globemaster) and make that cost around 10-11k to transport 1 (or 2) land units at a time, including infantry and the like. I just think that increasing a T-Copter’s price to 12k basically contradicts the purpose the T-Copter is supposed to serve, that is, transporting infantry units in the early game.

Infantry can still be transported around via other means. 🙂
